A Nigerian woman has captured hearts online after a viral video showed her grieving deeply over the untimely demise of her beloved dog.

The video, shared by her daughter via TikTok handle @queenpepie, documented the emotional moments surrounding the pet’s demise.

In the footage, the woman cradled the dog during its final moments. After the dog’s passing, she broke down in tears, visibly shaken and inconsolable. Her daughter revealed that the loss affected her so deeply that she refused to eat and continued to weep profusely.

The video has sparked an outpouring of sympathy from social media users, many of whom related to the deep bond between humans and their pets. Others shared stories of their losses, offering comfort and support to the grieving woman.

A social media user @tee_kuro reacted, “I’ve come to peace with the fact not everyone will be able to understand the grief of loosing a pet and it’s fine doesn’t mean it’s not valid. I WEPT the day my Girlie a died & till today it hurts sef.”

Another user @oroma_aaron added, “Dogs are really companionswe lost our dog BuchaOmo when they called from home to tell me I didn’t know when I flung my phone and started crying people thought someone had died.The attachment is as though they are humans.”
