One injured in chemical explosion in Lagos

A yet to be identified lady has sustained injuries of first degree burns from a chemical explosion that happened at Agege, Lagos State.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Director, Lagos Fire Service, Mrs Margaret Adeseye.
She noted that the incident which occured at about 6pm on Friday, led to an inferno.
She stated that the victim was immediately rescued by men of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and other emergency responders.
Adeyeye further disclosed that the Agege Fire and Rescue crew of the agency quickly brought the situation under control and doused the fire from the explosion of sets of varying kegs sizes containing unknown chemical stored in an open fenced-gated land.
Initial investigation revealed that the fire followed the explosion of the chemical which were kept unprotected from sunlight.
