Police arraign man over alleged N500,000 fraud
The Police in Oyo on Friday arraigned one 40-year-old Daniel Chukwu, for alleged N500,000 fraud.
Chukwu, whose address was not provided, is facing a count charge of stealing before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him.
The Prosecutor, Insp Toyin Ibrahim told the court that the defendant committed the offence sometime in August 2022 in the Dugbe area of Ibadan.
Ibrahim said the defendant fraudulently converted the money belonging to one God’s Grace Cooperative Society to his personal use.
He said the offence contravened Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Kausarat Ayofe granted the defendant bail in the sum of N250,000 with two reliable sureties in like sum.
She, thereafter, adjourned the case until January 6, 2025, for a hearing.
