“My PPA go see shege for my hand dis month” – NYSC corps members lament after receiving N33k allawee instead of N77k (Photos/Video)

National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members have expressed their disappointment and frustration after receiving their monthly allowance, popularly known as allawee.

The payment was far below the expected N77,000 promised by the federal government. Instead, they received the usual N33,000, causing outrage on social media.

Recently, the federal government announced plans to increase the monthly stipends for NYSC members from N33K to N77K. They also promised that every NYSC member would receive salary arrears dating back to July.

However, as the October allowance payments began rolling in, it became apparent that the increase was not actualized.

Corps members across the country took to social media platforms like Twitter and Instagram to share their grievances, accompanied by photos and videos of their bank alerts showing the unchanged N33,000 payment. Many shared video capturing their disappointments upon receiving N33k.
