Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has suffered a ‘small muscle tear’, according to a statement by the club on Sunday.

Kane was forced off in the first half of their Bundesliga clash against Borussia Dortmund, leaving the pitch after just 33 minutes with his side trailing 1-0.

The English forward was replaced by Thomas Müller and headed straight down the exit tunnel.

Following the match, Bayern Munich confirmed that Kane, 31, sustained a minor hamstring injury.

In an official statement, the club disclosed:

“Harry Kane suffered a small muscle tear in the back of his right thigh during yesterday’s Bundesliga match.

“This was confirmed by an examination by FC Bayern’s medical department. FC Bayern will have to do without Harry Kane for the time being.”

Kane’s absence is a major blow for Bayern Munich, as he has been a key figure in their attack since joining from Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite the early disruption, Bayern salvaged a draw against Dortmund, but the team now faces a challenge as they await their upcoming fixtures without their top scorer.
