Bayer Leverkusen in advanced talks to extend Victor Boniface’s contract
Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly in advanced negotiations with Nigerian striker Victor Boniface to extend his contract by a year.
The new contract will keep him at the club until 2029.
According to Sky Germany, the Bundesliga side is keen to secure Boniface’s long-term future amid growing interest from foreign clubs.
Currently earning around €3 million annually, Boniface is set to become one of the club’s top earners under the proposed deal.
Despite his contract already running until 2028, Leverkusen’s desire to avoid the risk of losing the talented forward.
Boniface, who joined Leverkusen from Union Saint-Gilloise in 2023, has been a revelation for the team.
He has racked up an impressive 29 goals and 10 assists in just 49 appearances.
However, his time at the BayArena has not been without challenges, as he has faced two significant injuries.
He suffered an abductor issue last season and is currently sidelined with a thigh injury sustained during international duty with Nigeria.
