The Trump administration has released thousands of JFK assassination files about President John F. Kennedy’s death, many of which were previously kept secret.

While past presidents, including Joe Biden, have made some records public, this latest release includes around 80,000 pages.

The files are now available on the National Archives website, but they don’t have descriptions, making them hard to review quickly. Experts say they likely won’t reveal anything new.

Tom Samoluk, who worked on a government panel that reviewed these records in the 1990s, said they found no evidence suggesting anyone other than Lee Harvey Oswald was responsible. “If there was anything shocking, it would have come out back then,” he said.

Despite promises from past leaders, some files are still classified for national security reasons.

The CIA and other agencies argue that releasing them could expose secret sources.

Trump previously agreed to keep some records secret when security officials requested it.
