The State House has allocated N15.09 billion for the purchase of tyres for bulletproof vehicles, SUVs, operational vehicles, and plain cars, as well as for the construction of an office complex for Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants.
These details were revealed in the 2025 Appropriation Bill, released by the Budget Office of the Federation on Thursday.
According to PUNCH Online, President Bola Tinubu presented the budget, titled “Budget of Restoration: Securing Peace, Rebuilding Prosperity,” to a joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday.
The budget outlines an ambitious N49.70 trillion spending plan, with a focus on defence, infrastructure, and human capital development. The proposed budget also includes a deficit of N13.39 trillion, to be financed through borrowing.
While addressing the National Assembly, President Tinubu emphasized his administration’s dedication to strengthening national security and rebuilding infrastructure.
In the appropriation bill, the State House, which serves as the administrative center for the executive arm, detailed its planned expenses. N164 million will go toward purchasing tyres for bulletproof vehicles, jeeps, platform trucks, and other operational vehicles.
Furthermore, N1.1 billion was allocated for replacing SUVs, while N3.66 billion is earmarked for the purchase of operational vehicles for the State House.
The document also specifies that N127.86 million will be spent on acquiring SUVs for the President and Vice President, under the office of the President.
Another N285 million is allocated for purchasing vehicles under the Chief of Staff’s office, while the Chief Security Officer to the President is set to receive N179.63 million for acquiring security and operational vehicles.
The budget further allocates N2.12 billion for honorarium and sitting allowances and proposes N1.83 billion for constructing an office complex for Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants.
Earlier reports highlighted that the 2025 Appropriation Bill under review by the National Assembly includes N4.91 trillion for defence and security and N4.06 trillion for infrastructure projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto-Badagry Highway.
Significant allocations were also made for education and health. Education is set to receive N3.52 trillion, including funding for Universal Basic Education and nine new higher institutions, while the health sector is allocated N2.48 trillion to enhance healthcare systems and provide essential drugs for public hospitals.
The budget is based on key economic assumptions, including a projected decrease in inflation from 34.6% to 15% and an improvement in the naira exchange rate from N1,700/$1 to N1,500/$1.

When it comes to scholarship applications, a strong recommendation letter can be the secret ingredient that sets a candidate apart from the competition. This crucial document not only highlights a student’s accomplishments but also provides personal insights into their character and potential. Whether you’re a teacher, mentor, or community leader, your words can make a significant impact. Let’s dive into how you can craft an effective scholarship recommendation letter that resonates with selection committees and helps students secure the funding they deserve.
Understanding the Purpose of a Recommendation Letter
Before you put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard), it’s essential to understand the purpose of a recommendation letter. These letters serve as endorsements of a student’s abilities, character, and accomplishments. They help scholarship committees gauge a candidate's potential beyond grades and test scores. By providing specific examples and personal anecdotes, you can paint a vivid picture of the applicant that sets them apart.
Key Elements of an Effective Recommendation Letter
1. Personal Connection Start with a brief introduction that explains your relationship with the student. How long have you known them? In what capacity have you interacted? This context is crucial, as it establishes your credibility as a recommender.
2. Specific Examples Provide concrete examples of the student's achievements, character, and contributions. Instead of vague compliments, detail specific projects or situations where the student demonstrated leadership, perseverance, or innovation. For instance, mention a time they led a team project or overcame a significant challenge.
3. Academic and Extracurricular Excellence Highlight both academic achievements and involvement in extracurricular activities. This holistic view of the student shows their commitment to learning and personal growth. Discuss their academic performance, unique talents, or significant contributions to clubs or sports.
4. Character Traits Discuss the personal qualities that make the student stand out. Are they a natural leader? Do they show empathy towards others? Use anecdotes to illustrate these traits, providing a richer understanding of who the student is beyond their academic performance.
5. Future Potential Conclude with a strong statement about the student’s potential for success in their future endeavors. Whether it’s further education or a career, your endorsement of their capabilities will reinforce their eligibility for the scholarship.
Tips for Writing the Letter
Be Genuine: Authenticity resonates. Use a warm and sincere tone throughout the letter.
Keep it Concise: Aim for a one-page letter, focusing on quality over quantity. Ensure every word adds value.
Use Clear Structure: Organize your letter with clear paragraphs, making it easy for the reader to follow your points.
Proofread: Grammar and spelling errors can undermine your credibility. Review your letter for mistakes before sending it off.
People Also Ask?
What should I include in a scholarship recommendation letter? Include your relationship with the student, specific examples of their achievements, character traits, and your assessment of their potential for future success.
How long should a recommendation letter be? Aim for one page. This length allows you to provide enough detail without overwhelming the reader.
Can I use a template for a recommendation letter? While templates can provide a helpful starting point, personalize your letter to reflect your unique insights about the student.
What tone should I use in a recommendation letter? Use a positive, supportive tone that conveys your genuine belief in the student’s abilities and potential.
Final Words 🤗
Writing a strong scholarship recommendation letter is both an honor and a responsibility. Your words can open doors for students, providing them with opportunities that may change their lives. By focusing on specific examples, being genuine, and showcasing their potential, you can create a compelling narrative that highlights why they deserve the scholarship. Remember, your insights are invaluable—make them count!
