Open market boomParis has become one of the main places for padel. So much so that the best players in the world rush to the capital to participate in the Greenweez Paris Major at the beginning of autumn. For the third time, Roland-Garros (16th) is the scene of this Grand Chelem. If the tournament officially began on Saturday September 28, 2024 with the qualifications, the first matches of the final table took place this Monday September 30. Here’s what you need to know.

A prestigious tournament

In the majestic setting of the French Open tennis venue, the best men’s and women’s doubles pairs compete in one of the only Majors of the year. Launched in 2022, the tournament enhances the court Philippe-Chatrier and the court Suzanne-Lenglen.

This year, the casting turns out well provided. Among the men, the title holders, the Spaniard Arturo Coello and the Argentinian Agustin Tapia are present. They will be the favorites. Just like the Spanish Paula Josemaria Martin et Ariana Sanchez Failedalso holders of the title at Porte d’Auteuil.

A dense program

For fans of padel, the program promises to be rich until the finals, planned Sunday October 6. The first round ends Tuesday October 1, and the second round begins the same day, before ending Wednesday October 2. Then it will be the round of 16, Thursday October 3. The eight best doubles pairs will face each other on Friday October 4. The final square will take place on Saturday October 5. In total, there are 56 doubles pairs in the men’s draw and 48 in the women’s draw.

Tickets still available

A sign of the meteoric rise of padel in Paris and Île-de-France, the tournament announced that it would reach the bar 50 000 billets sold, one record. Previous editions had attracted 37,000 people in 2023 and 20,000 people in 2022.

But the stadium can still accommodate spectators. To do this, you have to pay 20 euros until the round of 16, and 25 euros from the quarter-finals to the finals.
