With the 2-0 win against the Red Devils at the beginning of this month as his final achievement, Antoine Griezmann says goodbye to the French national team.

The Atlético Madrid star was a fixture at Les Bleus for years. He collected no fewer than 137 caps. Griezmann scored 44 goals and 38 assists.

His trophy cabinet also became quite full. Griezmann became world champion with France in 2018. In the final he scored a goal and two assists. He also won the Nations League in 2021.

At the World Cup in Qatar there was a silver medal for Griezmann and co., just like at the European Championships in his own country in 2016. There he was voted best player of the tournament and became top scorer.

Over the years he also built an impressive record series with the national team. Griezmann appeared in every French international match between August 2017 and March 2024.

At 33, he now thinks it’s enough. “It is with a heart overflowing with memories that I close this chapter. Thank you for this great adventure in the tricolor and see you soon,” he posted on social media today.

The Red Devils no longer have to fear him when they face France again on October 14.
