Nigerian Group Passes Vote of Confidence on Zacch Adedeji
Policy Monitoring and Accountability Foundation (PMAF), an organization comprising over 300 persons, including industry experts, policy analysts, business leaders, and civil society advocates, has unanimously passed a vote of confidence in the leadership of Dr. Zacch Adedeji, Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).
In a meeting convened by the group in Lagos on Monday, members praised his approach to leadership, fiscal responsibility, and human capital development.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Kolawole Samson, Coordinator, Policy Monitoring and Accountability Foundation, underscored the milestones achieved by FIRS,
“Dr. Zacch is exactly the kind of leader Nigeria has been waiting for. Honest, diligent, and always putting the needs of ordinary Nigerians first. Since his appointment, we have seen many improvements within the agency. FIRS has gone beyond being just a revenue-generating body. It has become a symbol of effective governance; a role model that other Nigerian agencies should emulate.”
He continued to highlight Dr. Zacch’s focus on improving the welfare of staff within FIRS,
“We’ve seen a real change in his administration. The man doesn’t just talk; he delivers. He’s made sure the staff feels appreciated and treated fairly. The recent salary increment and transparent, performance-based promotion system show his commitment to improving their lives. It’s no surprise to see the staff so excited online recently. This is leadership we can truly be proud of.”
The Secretary of PMAF also stated,
“FIRS has already pulled in over ₦18.5 trillion in revenue, getting close to the ₦19.4 trillion target. This just shows Dr. Zacch knows his work well. It’s not just about hitting big figures; it’s about creating a system that supports Nigeria’s progress and keeps things running smoothly for everyone.”
The Foundation concluded the meeting by praising Dr. Zacch’s efforts in addressing inequities in Nigeria’s revenue distribution system through the Tax Reform Bill. They agreed that this reform bill is definitely a good one for all Nigerians regardless of tribe and states. It tackles long-standing regional imbalances while ensuring that states receive what they deserve.
The Policy Monitoring and Accountability Foundation’s endorsement further reinforces Dr. Zacch’s position as a transformative figure in Nigeria’s public sector.
