‘Liverpool will walk us over’ – Walker warns after Spurs humiliation
Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has sounded the alarm ahead of their high-stakes Premier League encounter with Liverpool.
The English man warns his teammates that their current form could see them “walked over” at Anfield.
City’s alarming 4-0 defeat to Tottenham at the Etihad marked their fifth consecutive loss, a slump not seen since 2006.
This poor run leaves the defending champions five points adrift of Liverpool, who could widen the gap to eight points with a win against Southampton on Sunday.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Walker acknowledged the urgency of the situation.
“It’s a great game to turn it around and take three points from the team who sit above you. But we can’t put in a performance like that or we’ll get walked over.”
City’s immediate challenge is a Champions League clash with Feyenoord on Tuesday, followed by the crucial showdown at Anfield.
Walker also emphasized the need to rediscover their form quickly.
“The best way to turn this round is on Tuesday. Hopefully, the mojo comes back, and we see the normal City from the past eight seasons.”
