After a sports hall fire on the grounds of SSV Jeddeloh II from Lower Saxony, the hosting of the Regionalliga North home game against Phoenix Lübeck on Wednesday evening is in question. “We are stunned and hit hard,” the club said on Instagram. “The damage is extensive, we don’t yet know exactly how much.”
The roof of the sports hall extension caught fire on Sunday evening, the police said. The flames threatened to spread to the adjacent sports hall on the fourth division club’s premises.
According to police, the extension was completely destroyed and the sports hall was badly damaged. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
