Kekere-Ekun sworn in as 23rd substantive CJN

The new CJN took the oath of office and signed the oath register at the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja.

President Bola Tinubu has sworn in Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the 23rd substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria.

Kekere-Ekun was sworn in on Monday, September 30, 2024, five days after her confirmation by the Senate.

The new CJN took the oath of office and signed the oath register at the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja.

She succeeds Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, who assumed office in June 2022 during the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Ariwoola bowed out in August 2024, upon attaining the retirement age of 70 years.
