Guardiola confirms Manchester City as final club role

Pep Guardiola has revealed he will not manage another club after his time at Manchester City.

Speaking on chef Dani Garcia’s YouTube channel, the 53-year-old explained that while he remains focused on his current duties, he has no intention of starting fresh elsewhere when his tenure at City concludes.

“I’m not going to manage another team,” Guardiola said. “The thought of starting somewhere else, the whole process of training, no, no, no! Maybe a national team, but that’s different. I think stopping would do me good.”

The Spaniard, who extended his contract until 2027, has achieved remarkable success at City, winning 18 trophies since 2016, including four consecutive Premier League titles and last two season’s historic treble.

Despite this, he has hinted at a desire to explore international football or even take a break entirely.

Guardiola’s immediate focus, however, is turning around City’s recent poor form.

The defending Premier League champions have won just once in their last nine matches across all competitions.

Ahead of City’s Champions League clash with Juventus and a derby against Manchester United, Guardiola urged his players to return to the basics:

“It’s about doing the simple things better. The way we want to play won’t change.”
