Forum of Civil Society Organizations honour Sir Ishmael for democracy and good governance in Nigeria

Precocious and altruistic, Engr. (Sir) Cyril Chinonso Ishmael, a native of Obikabia, Nnanji autonomous community, Isiala Ngwa North local government area of Abia State, Nigeria has a long history of service in both the private and public sectors. A holder of first degree in Chemical/Petro-Chemical Engineering from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and Masters in Oil and Gas Engineering from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen Scotland, he was an early starter in service delivery to humanity.

As a teenager, Engr. Sir Cyril Chinonso Ishmael offered his services as a sales boy in his mother’s Chemist/Provision Shop until he gained admission into the university. At the university, he became Pastor of the Christian Fellowship, Speaker, Students Representative Council and even aspired to be President of the Students Union Government (SUG). A crusader of justice, the patriotic student leader in his defence of the rights of students was locked up in Port Harcourt Prison by the school authorities. Gladly, the Student Union won the case leading to the discharge and acquittal of the vibrant leader and the implementation of the students demand.
Selfless and dedicated to humanitarian services, Engr. Cyril Chinonso Ishmael founded IMPACT GROUP, an academic service group that provided free tutorials to students across the campus. Service personified, he joined the Junior Chamber International (JCI), a world-wide federation of young leaders and entrepreneurs. He functioned in different capacities in the Chamber till he climbed to the apogee as Senator (Life member of JCI.


Not given to dull moments, on graduation and before his call up for the National Youth Service Corp(NYSC), enterprising Cyril Chinonso Ishmael joined a Printing Press in Port Harcourt as an apprentice and later established GenX Press Port Harcourt which has been in operation for more than 15 years.

Service oriented and diligent, Engr. Cyril Chinonso Ishmael distinguished himself in the service of the United States Navy. For his , meritorious leadership roles in the US Navy, he bagged several honours and awards. Among the awards are:
*. Military Outstanding Volunteer Medal.
*. Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
*. Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and;
*. 2018/2016 Sailor of the Year.
At present,he serves in the US Navy Reserve and has maintained a Top Secret Clearance, a testament to his integrity and how legitimate all his ventures have been in the USA.
A successful business magnate, Engr. (Sir) Cyril Chinonso Ishmael is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Safehands Services LLC, an Auto Service Company which has since diversified into Real Estate.


Knight of the Anglican Communion, he has continued to play pivotal role in the development of the Church across denominations. Widows, youths and the vulnerable in his Obikabia homestead and beyond have extensively benefitted from his philanthropic activities.
Engr. (Sir) Cyril Chinonso Ishmael, a believer in human capital development has been organizing seminars and workshops at his own cost to mentor budding young entrepreneurs from all walks of life to equip them with the global best practices in the business world.
In the 2024 local government election in Abia, Engr. Cyril Ishmael was called upon by his people to contest for the chairmanship position of Isiala Ngwa North LGA under the platform of Labour Party, but was pressurized by the powers that be to step down. A loyal party man, he obliged.
And like the golden fish with no hiding place, the humanitarian services of Engr. (Sir) Cyril Chinonso Ishmael have searched him out for the bestowal of EXCELLENCE PERFORMANCE AWARD 2024 by the FORUM OF CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS FOR DEMOCRACY AND GOOD GOVERNANCE IN NIGERIA (FCSODGGN).
