Farmer docked over theft of cocoa seeds

A 32-year-old farmer, Femi Balogun, was on Wednesday docked before an Okitipupa Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ondo State for allegedly stealing cocoa seeds worth N100,000.

The defendant, whose address was not given, is facing a count charge bordering on stealing, which he pleaded not guilty to.

The prosecutor, ASP Zedekiah Orogbemi, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence on Oct. 12 at about 8 am at Oronyo camp, Ode-Aye in Okitipupa magisterial district.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Philip Akinlosetu, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100, 000 with a surety in like sum and adjourned the case until Dec.12, for hearing. (NAN)
