EFCC Detains 21 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Yola
Abuja, October 2, 2024(TheGavel) – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 21 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in Yola, Adamawa State. The EFCC’s Spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the arrests in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja.
The suspects were apprehended by operatives from the Gombe Zonal Directorate of the EFCC on September 24, 2024, at various locations near Modibbo Adamawa University in Yola.
According to Oyewale, the items seized during the operation include 13 iPhones, 12 Android phones, one laptop, and a tablet. He further disclosed that the suspects are currently undergoing investigation and will be charged to court soon. (NAN)
