CAFWC: Aduku positive despite Edo Queen’s disappointing outing

Edo Queens head coach, Moses Aduku says his team can take valuable lessons home despite their failure to make it to the podium at the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League.

The debutants finished in a disappointing fourth position in the competition.

The Nigerian champions lost 4-3 on penalties to Egypt’s FC Masar in the third-place match on Friday night.

Aduku said the lessons learnt from the competition will be useful for his side in future.

“We have learnt our lessons. We started very well but went down without scoring goals at the critical stage of the tournament,” he told the club’s media.

“We are going back to the drawing board to work on our deficiency. I am not happy that we were not scoring. We learnt a lot and next time I am sure we will do better.

“This is our first time. The teams and tournament were not too much for us, just that our plans did not work. Next time we are going to be better.”
