Boy arrested for alleged murder of mother in Delta

The Delta State Police Command has arrested a yet to be identified boy for murdering his mother in Eku, Ethiope East Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that the boy had deceived his mother to escort him to a place within the community, and then killed her on their way back.

Sources however state that the killing was for suspected ritual purposes.

A source simply identified as Ovo, noted that those who had heard when the mother screamed rushed to where they were, overpowered him, and handed him over to the police.

According to Ovo, the police took the boy to the hospital for treatment after they had obtained his statement.

The remains of the mother have been deposited in the morgue.
