Borno Government Launches Joint Operation Centre to Bolster Security Efforts

Maiduguri, Oct. 2, 2024 (TheGavel) – In a bid to enhance security across the state, the Borno Government has activated a Joint Operation Centre aimed at improving intelligence sharing and collaboration among security agencies. This initiative is part of the state’s ongoing efforts to strengthen security measures amidst ongoing threats in the region.

The Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, Prof. Usman Tar, announced the development in a statement released on Wednesday. He highlighted that the new centre is designed to facilitate efficient coordination between various security bodies operating in Borno, ultimately improving their response to security challenges.

According to Prof. Tar, the state government has implemented several key measures to ensure the effectiveness of the joint operation centre. These include the provision of essential communication and power infrastructure such as solar panels, batteries, and walkie-talkies, all of which have been donated to the state police command.

“The government is committed to providing the necessary tools and support to ensure that the security agencies in the state work more efficiently. This centre will play a crucial role in intelligence gathering and information sharing, helping to create a more secure environment for the people of Borno,” Prof. Tar stated.

The establishment of the Joint Operation Centre marks another step in the government’s ongoing efforts to combat insecurity in the region and foster collaboration among military and law enforcement agencies. (NAN)
