At least 20 persons died and vehicles burnt as accident occured around Karu Bridge along the Abuja-Expressway im Abuja.

The accident happened around 6pm on Wednesday when a truck belonging to Dangote Industries Ltd conveying cement and another belonging to a construction company collided.

The Dangote truck was said to have lost break around the Kugbo axis of the road and dragged other vehicles along.

About six CNG-powered cylinders were said to have exploded one after the other, engulfing nearby vehicles and motorcycles in the inferno.

As of the time of filing this report, the fire service, security agencies and citizens have quenched the fires and are making efforts to clear the road to restore traffic.

Several charred human remains were piled up beside the road.
