AIG Reiterates Commitment to Crime Fighting in Lagos, Ogun

Lagos, Oct. 7, 2024 (TheGavel) – The Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 2 Command, Mr. Adegoke Fayoade, has reaffirmed his dedication to combating crime in Lagos and Ogun states.

In a statement issued by the Zonal Public Relations Officer (ZPRO), SP Umma Ayuba, Fayoade emphasized his commitment during a courtesy visit to the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, at his palace in Lagos on Monday. The visit was made to seek the monarch’s blessings and guidance.

The statement noted that the AIG was warmly received by Oba Akiolu and his white cap chiefs, who commended Fayoade for his patriotism and steadfast service to the nation.

The traditional ruler praised the police officer for his exceptional qualities, including his devotion, incorruptibility, discipline, and proactive leadership. Oba Akiolu revealed that he had followed AIG Fayoade’s career trajectory since his days as the Divisional Police Officer at Bar Beach Police Station.

In response, AIG Fayoade pledged his respect for traditional values and assured that his approach to policing would remain grounded in the rule of law, community engagement, and respect for local customs and traditions.
