Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has announced the expansion of guarantors for small-scale loans to agripreneurs, now including Community Development Associations, farmers’ associations, and artisans’ associations.
The governor made this known during an address marking Nigeria’s 64th Independence anniversary.
He also extended the subsidy on transportation for another six months under the Sustainable Action for Economic Recovery (SAfER) scheme.
“We have also extended the subsidy on transportation for another 6 months under the Sustainable Action for Economic Recovery (SAfER) scheme. The subsidy will now also include subsidy on trucks for produce evacuation. This subsidy will be implemented through the various trader and agriculture unions,” he said.
The governor reassured citizens that security remains a top priority, with increased security presence during celebrations to ensure safety and peace. He emphasized his commitment to strengthening democratic institutions.
“We must hold fast to the things that unite us—our shared identity, our culture, and our history,” Governor Makinde said. “We will continue to give strength to democratic institutions because we believe this is one of the best ways to build stronger states and nations.”
